Challenge Alaska Team
Nate Boltz
Introduced to Challenge Alaska in 2009 when seeking how to ski as a family with his daughter Anna, who was born with Spina Bifida. Committed to sharing adaptive sports after experiencing their therapeutic benefits firsthand.
"At the age of 40, learned how to ride a unicycle and is currently learning the banjo (though not at the same time)."
Kelzey Haun
Empowers individuals of all abilities to overcome barriers and explore recreational sports. Celebrates perseverance, inclusion, and outdoor adventure.
"Can tap dance! Yes, even in ski boots."
Jeff Dick, CTRS
Enjoys helping redefine what is possible and providing choice to people who have had choices taken away, supporting physical, mental, emotional, and social health.
"Licensed amateur (ham) radio operator. Call sign KL7UE."
Brandon Harker, CTRS
Passionate about helping people do things they once thought impossible or didn't know they could do, creating opportunities for growth.
"Anchorage is the longest place he has ever lived (13+ years)."
Brandon Fisk, CTRS
Began as a volunteer ski instructor in 2011, became a Girdwood intern in 2016, and now supports Raven participants in breaking down physical barriers.
"Music lover, former drummer, and amateur DJ who amasses vinyl records."
Mariel Ballew, CFRE
Transitioned from sales to use fundraising skills for community impact. Enjoys supporting passionate individuals to build lasting organization partnerships.
"Has fostered more than 80 dogs & puppies."
Casendra Bowen
Started helping with the Charity Auction Gala and transitioned into full office administration. Enjoys running the office alongside boutique retail therapy.
"First discovered Challenge Alaska as a paid singer for the Gala in 2009."
Jeremy Anderson
Loves witnessing the 'lightbulb' moment when athletes and instructors realize new success on the slopes. Operates a lodge and drift-fishing business in summer.
"Goes by the nickname 'Jaha' since middle school."
Rachel Puckett
Originally from Tennessee, worked in international school IT systems in Japan for 8 years. Fell in love with Alaska's environment in 2024 and joined the team.
"Has a verdant green thumb and grows exotic houseplants."
Elle Adkins
Volunteered for three years after seeking affordable skiing, now helps other participants discover what is possible on the slopes.
"Licensed pilot — which is just an even more expensive hobby than skiing."
Karina Wong, OTR/L, CTRS
Recreational and occupational therapist supporting access to experiences that bring purpose, joy, and physical health.
"Grew up in California and once got humbled by a rip tide."
Jared Rubin
Coordinates ski/snowboard volunteer opportunities and teaches snowboard lessons. Enjoys working outdoors and local events.
